Help With This Site

Having trouble watching your event? It happens. You are not the only one who has experienced trouble from time to time. It happens for various reasons and is some times hard to track down, but that doesn't mean that we don't want to help you solve your woes. It only means that it is not always an easy task to accomplish.

About the viewing tools we use
When your computer was delivered to you, it may have come with or without the software that it takes to listen to and view events online. Even if your computer can play audio and video for you, chances are that the technology has changed since the last time you downloaded an audio or video player. It's a good idea to check and see if you have the lastest version. Unfortunately, they update them for reasons that are often unkind to you and your computer.

So, if this is your first attempt to download player software, or if you are updating the software you already have, the experience will be much the same. To get the most out of your EyeCentric experience, you should know these things about your computer:

  • The speed of your processor (200 MegaHertz, for instance)
  • The speed of your Internet connection (28.8 Kbps, 57.6 Kbps, for instance)
All of the audio and video we offer utilizes the Real™ player. Real is the premiere creator of Internet audio and video players, and their G2 technology allows the very best entertainment experience, and makes the best use of poor or slow connections or telephone line conditions.

Real's players are free
Yes, they have a free version. Yes, they have a version for sale. No, you don't have to buy the version they sell to fully enjoy the events here at EyeCentric Media. It's not always easy to find the free version, but look around for a few moments and you'll see it. Be sure to read the section about who can and can't use G2.

Real supports Windows 95/95/ME/2000 and NT 4.0. If you're a Mac user, you'll have to have OS 8.1 or better. There are also various flavors of Unix available.

WebTV viewers will find that their experience varies depending on the type of web TV they own. While we at EyeCentric Media are constantly redesigning our site to work with all web browsers, WebTV is particularly challenging because there are several models on the market today, and more on the way. We are committed to making the WebTV experience as fulfilling as possible. If you know anything helpful about webcast viewing over WebTV, we'd appreciate your comments at the Contact Us link.

If you have an Audrey, you aren't required to download any software. A limited version of the software is already loaded onto your system. However, you will only be able to listen to a limited number of audio selections. We are working on increasing this selection, but there is only so much we can do.

Mac Users
Click here to download Real Player for Macintosh. Once you've chosen which of the two players you want to download, fill in the required information. You'll need to know your Operating System and the speed of your connection.

Choose a location to download from by clicking on a city in the server list that appears. Click on DOWNLOAD. The message on your screen should say "Unstuffing with Stuffit™ expander." Find the Real icon on your desktop. Doubleclick on the icon and choose a location for your new Real Audio application to reside.

Now go to the folder where the Real Audio player resides and doubleclick on the Real application icon. Once open, pull down the FILE menu and open the name of the file you saved from EyeCentric.

Windows 95/98/ME/2000/NT users
Click here for the free download. Fill out the form to download the Real Player G2. You'll need to know the operating system your computer uses, the type of CPU and the type of connection you have.

After you complete the form, you'll be prompted to select a Real.com server to get your download from (try the one geographically closest to you). After you click on a server location, you'll be prompted to choose a location on your computer where you want the file to be downloaded. We suggest you save this to your desktop.

Click on SAVE and the download begins. Go to your desktop, doubleclick on the program icon and it will begin to install. You will see a software license agreement, and your acceptance of this agreement allows the download to continue. Follow the simple prompts through the setup and provide the information you are prompted for. If you are unsure about any of this information, click ACCEPT to allow the installation to proceed using the default information at each step.

Web TV users
If you have the Phillips Magnavox style of WebTV, your EyeCentric experience will be limited to audio only as the Phillips Magnavox-style units do not handle streaming video at this time and there is no provision for downloading a Real player.

Other types of WebTV may handle streaming video superbly. For instance, we have tested the Neon Technologies device and found it to be as capable as most desktop computers.
